Free live music from local artists, art exhibitions, installations, performances and a night market are set to transform Re:START into both stage and art gallery for Art Beat again this summer. The second running of the three month programme of local art and music returns today (22nd of November) and runs through until the 23 February, helping to keep Christchurch entertained for an entire summer. There’s plenty of variety on the programme, which includes the thoughtful, the challenging, and the quirky. The Art Beat art programme gives young, emerging artists a chance to take their work beyond the art gallery infrastructure. Each artist has been challenged to make their work for Art Beat site specific and relevant to the context of Re:START.
