Revving up for another big year – maybe its biggest ever – The Christchurch Food Show is once again all set to have us salivating and rushing home eagerly to try new ideas in the kitchen. Held from the 8th to the 10th of April 2016, at Horncastle Arena, it’s got some exciting new features in store this year in the forms of the Artisan Village and Street Food Alley. The Artisan Village will be a specialist area at the show devoted to all things handmade, traditional and small-batch, with local producers and famers’ market faves such as Lovat Venison, Chorizo Garcia, Be Nourished and The Sausage Shed showcasing their lovingly produced and delicious wares. Annual culinary extravaganza The Food Show returns to the city soon to showcase all things delicious and delectable over three days at the Horncastle Arena. The country’s largest selection of South Island food, drink and kitchen equipment suppliers will be clustered together May 1-3.This year a brand new area to the show will be launching, called The Healthy Hub. THE FOOD SHOW Wondering how you were ever going to hold out until The Food Show Christchurch rolled around again in September? Well placate that palate with the news the three-day foodie fave has been brought forward five months and kicks off on 4 April at the CBS Canterbury Arena. For anyone thinking that it might be a little soon, banish those food-show-fatigue thoughts with a heaping helping of the country’s top gourmet goodies and decadent drops. All Good will be there with its Fairtrade bananas (hopefully the Christchurch shortage will be over by then) and Karma Cola. Free from artificial colouring and preservatives, unlike some other colas, money from each bottle of Karma sold is sent back to the village in Sierra Leone where the cola nuts are grown to help provide essential services like fresh water wells – now that is some good karma!Household names like Nespresso and Vogels...
